FAQ of our Outside General Counsel™ Program
An outside general counsel is a lawyer offering on-demand legal services to the business without the expense of employing a full-time general counsel. Similar to an in-house counsel, our Outside General Counsel™ can perform a wide range of legal work for the corporation based on the client's directions. Many small and medium businesses have legal issues that require attention but refrain from seeking legal advice due to high legal costs. Our Outside General Counsel™ Program allows small business owners to access legal services at a reasonable rate. Entrepreneurs will be able to make an informed business decision.
Legal issues arise in business context on a day-to-day basis, ranging from a question on employment contract to drafting an agreement for a substantial business deal. Small business owners often hesitate about seeking help from lawyers due to cost constraint. As lawyers with an entrepreneural spirit, we understand how a timely legal advice can assist you making the right business decision.
Our Outside General Counsel™ Program allows you to have constant legal support from us, without the cost of hiring a full-time in-house lawyer at your company. Our plans are priced at a reasonable rate to ensure it is affordable for you.
Compared to hiring a lawyer on a task-based basis, joining our Outside General Counsel™ Program ensures that you receive advice from someone who knows and understands your business and values. Once we are retained, we will develop intimate knowledge of your company. We are committed to providing pragmatic and quality legal services based on your business model.
Our lawyers are reachable in person, through phone, emails and our online consultation system. We aim to offer advice on-demand, anywhere and anytime.
The minimum commitment term (contract term) for the Outside General Counsel Program is 6 months while the maximum commitment term is 12 months. During the commitment term, we promise the monthly rate will remain the same.
We currently have three types of plans available, which are designed to suit companies with different levels of demand of legal services.
If you have a start-up company, we recommend the "Startup" Program which allows you to access our legal services without breaking the bank.
For companies with a more established business, we recommend the "Growing Business" or the "Customized Enterprise Premium" Program which gives you more legal support and flexibility.
The Outside General Counsel™ Program generally covers five major areas of legal services:
